Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde Urban Streetfighter Wrinkle Black / Aluminium Adjustable Exhaust for BMW R nineT (2017-2020)

Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde Urban Streetfighter Wrinkle Black / Aluminium Adjustable Exhaust for BMW R nineT 2017-2020 (EP-142117)

This is the Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde Urban exhaust in the lower version for the BMW R nineT (2017-2020 models), finished with a Wrinkle Black cone-shaped silencer body with a bare aluminium Streetfighter end cap. It is an electronically adjustable slip-on silencer that lets you choose between three sound modes on the fly: Dr. Jekill (quiet), Dynamic and Mr. Hyde (loud).

The Urban was completely redesigned by the Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde research and development team, with a cone that is a more present yet fully integrated part of the bike and a sound the brand describes as never heard before from an R nineT. The system is ECE, EG-BE and TÜV approved, so it is fully street legal, and it is backed by a 4 year brand warranty.

Key Specifications

How do the three sound modes work?

At the push of a button a valve inside the muffler closes, opens or opens halfway. Closed gives you the quiet Dr. Jekill mode, half open gives the Dynamic mode and fully open gives the loud Mr. Hyde mode, so you can pick the right sound for every situation while riding.

Is the Urban exhaust street legal?

Yes. Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde states the system complies with European law and is ECE, EG-BE and TÜV approved. Every system contains a smartbox, an electronic control unit with software that reads the CANBUS signals coming from the motorcycle's ECU.

Which R nineT models does the Urban Lower fit?

The Urban Lower fits the R nineT, R nineT Pure and R nineT Racer directly in their factory seat configuration (2 seater for the R nineT and Pure, 1 seater for the Racer). If your bike has been converted to the other seat configuration, a subframe change is required (BMW part no. 18218564071 for a 1 seater R nineT or Pure, 46518562978 for a 2 seater Racer). It does not fit the R nineT Scrambler in its standard configuration, because the Scrambler has an upper exhaust from the factory.

What does the Wrinkle Black / Aluminium Streetfighter version look like?

This version combines a Wrinkle Black cone-shaped silencer body with a bare aluminium Streetfighter end cap. The Urban is offered in Pearl Grey and Black with two different end cap styles, so you can match the exhaust to the colour of your R nineT. Part number EP-142117 is the Wrinkle Black / Aluminium Streetfighter version for 2017-2020 bikes.
