Yamaha Tenere 4 Concept: First Look at the New Lightweight Adventure Single

Yamaha's adventure range has been on the thin side. Since the Super Tenere was discontinued in 2025, the brand has been represented in the ADV segment by the Tenere 700 and its off-shoots like the World Raid. That may finally change, after Yamaha presented the Tenere 4 Concept at EICMA 2027.
Details remain scarce, but Yamaha says the Tenere 4 Concept represents a new lightweight entry that can appeal to experienced riders while also being a viable, A2-compliant option for newcomers. More importantly, Yamaha hinted that the concept is just one of several projects underway to expand its Tenere family.
Engine and chassis
The Tenere 4 Concept is powered by an all-new liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. Yamaha did not provide precise figures, but as an A2-compliant model its maximum output can be no more than 47 hp. Yamaha claims the engine offers strong low to mid-range torque and usable high-rpm performance.
The engine is mounted to a brand new trellis frame that Yamaha says is light and versatile, capable on both paved roads and off-road trails. Suspension consists of a KYB fork and a linked rear monoshock, and the 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels wear Michelin Anakee Wild tires.
Concept details
As a concept, the bike lacks full equipment such as mirrors and lighting, but four indents on the front face below the windscreen hint at a headlight array similar to the Tenere 700. Other features include a low, flat fuel tank, a flat seat, an Akrapovic exhaust, a high-mounted front fender, handguards and a TFT display.
Yamaha has not confirmed the Tenere 4 for production, but its EICMA appearance suggests it is on the right track, likely with a final production model to come at next year's show.
